What We Do

Opening Paths and Possibilities
Through Lifelong Learning

Explore

Rutgers Division of Continuing Studies (DoCS) is devoted to the needs of lifelong learners.

Serving Lifelong Learners

We welcome and celebrate learners at all ages and stages of life  -- from math enrichment classes for 1st graders to our Osher Lifelong Learning Institute for retirees who have never lost their passion for growth.

Career Building & Skill Growth

We expand access and opportunity through programs that build in-demand skills sought by employers and open new career possibilities.

Enabling Learning at a Distance

We were founded in 1996 to develop, foster, and promote quality online education at Rutgers. Today, that function is managed across the university by University Online Educational Services.

Who We Are

With our support, Rutgers reaches more than 60,000 lifelong learners every year. Together we ensure that everyone has the chance to be a lifelong learner.
