Conference Overview and Objective
The Rutgers Institute for Emergency Preparedness and Homeland Security is a University-wide, multidisciplinary center of excellence, blending expertise and experience in the sciences and humanities from all campuses statewide to protect and enhance the lives, health, and wellness of individuals and populations – and to safeguard the physical, economic, and societal infrastructure – through national and international collaboration in research, education, community outreach, and practice.
This Inaugural Conference is designed to introduce the Rutgers Institute for Emergency Preparedness and Homeland Security (IEPHS) and the efforts and accomplishments achieved to date by the multidisciplinary group of subject matter experts at Rutgers, the State University of New Jersey.
This Conference is funded through a grant from the New Jersey Office of Homeland Security and Preparedness.

This conference is designed for individuals in the fields of health care, behavioral health, public health, biosafety and biosecurity, emergency medical services, emergency management, law, public safety, criminal justice, homeland security, engineering, transportation science, pharmacology and drug development, environmental and exposure science, mathematics and computer science, political science, planning, public policy, and government.
The conference content will be presented by a multidisciplinary group of subject matter experts from the fields of health care, public health, mathematics, environmental and exposure science, engineering, planning and public policy, law and public safety, criminal justice, homeland security, social work, and pharmacy.
Attendance and luncheon are FREE OF CHARGE for participants; however, registration is required.
